About the Opportunity
The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry — the largest and most interactive science museum in the Western Hemisphere — is seeking 10 Illinois Tech students to join their Education Camps and Fab Lab Maker Spaces team this summer.
This isn’t your typical internship. You’ll be on the front lines of STEM education, helping facilitate youth summer camp programs for students ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade — all while developing professional skills that will set you apart in any career.
The Details
- Pay: $17.00/hour
- Schedule: Full-time (35 hours/week), Monday – Friday
- Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026
- Location: On-site at Griffin MSI, Chicago
What You’ll Do
As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience with digital fabrication technology that’s shaping the future:
- 3D Printers — Bring designs to life layer by layer
- Laser Cutters — Precision cutting for creative projects
- Digital Embroiderers — Combine technology and textiles
- Vinyl Cutters — Create custom designs and decals
Beyond the tech, you’ll develop essential professional skills:
- Public speaking and audience engagement
- Leadership and group communication
- Design thinking and problem-solving
- Collaboration across diverse teams
