Now in its 12th year, the Exelon Summer Institute (ESI) is a 4-week summer camp for supporting students transition to college life. This invitation-only program creates a community of learners in math, physics, chemistry, writing, and computer science. Student teaching teams support participants while faculty conduct specialized lectures and participate in local field trips with participants. It is a hands-on program that includes a rocket project, robot wars, bridge and catapult challenges. Mini-projects are also dispersed throughout the day, giving our students an opportunity to flex their intellect with creativity!
This program is for admitted Illinois Tech students only.
The transition to university life and the academic rigors of the first year of college can be challenging. ESI is an intensive but fun, 4-week program designed to give new students an opportunity to meet current students, make friends, and experience college life at Illinois Tech. The program takes place in July before the start of the academic year, and is open to admitted students entering full-time in the fall by invitation only.
Students invited to participate in the Exelon Summer Institute will receive an email containing an online application link to confirm their participation and understanding.Learn More
