Who we are

Lawrence Hall is a Chicago-based nonprofit social services agency that provides therapeutic, wellness, and skill development services to youth, families, and neighborhoods affected by lasting trauma.

About the Role

As a Residential Case Manager, you’ll be part of our Child and Family Treatment Center (CFTC) – a 24-hour residential program for youth experiencing significant emotional challenges and complex trauma. The CFTC provides youth with compassionate, structured support through individualized treatment plans that include therapy, psychiatric care, education, and life skills development.

In this role, you’ll work closely with young people, their families, and interdisciplinary teams to help youth build resilience, develop healthy relationships, and work toward reunification or safe placement. You’ll be a key part of the healing process, coordinating services and advocating for each youth’s well-being and success.

This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about making a lasting impact through trauma-informed care.

As a case manager, you will:

  • Carry a caseload of youth and families in residential care
  • Provide case management and coordinate services with caregivers, courts, schools, and medical providers
  • Accompany and transport youth to court, school, and appointments using an agency or personal vehicle
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in alignment with Medicaid and agency guidelines
  • Participate in treatment planning, family visits, and interdisciplinary staffing
  • Advocate for youth needs while applying trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
  • Support youth in accessing education, recreation, vocational training, and other resources

Who we’re looking for

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services or related field
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
  • No history of child abuse or neglect
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting youth in residential care or similar settings
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and youth development principles

Work Schedule & Additional Information

This full-time position is located at our Francisco Campus (4833 N Francisco Ave, Chicago, IL) from Monday–Friday, generally 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings or weekends based on youth needs, including a mix of in-office responsibilities, field visits, and external meetings.
