Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) specializes in repairing, overhauling, converting, and modernizing ships and submarines for the U.S. Navy. Established in 1891, the Shipyard is one of Washington State’s largest industrial facilities, employing over 15,000 highly skilled ship maintenance professionals. The Shipyard has the unique facilities to dry-dock and overhaul any ship in the U.S. fleet, service and refuel nuclear reactors, and perform a wide variety of fabrication, manufacturing, and engineering services.

At Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, engineering and national security integrate into a challenging and rewarding career. At the Shipyard, you’ll use your engineering skills to meet our mission of keeping America’s Navy #1 in the world by supporting the overhaul, repair, and modernization of combat systems, communication equipment, navigation systems, propulsion systems, ship structures, and nuclear reactor plants on a variety of ship platforms.

We are actively filling entry level engineering positions for interested and qualified students with majors in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, and Naval Architecture.

 A United States citizen

 Able to successfully obtain a government security clearance

 Able to pass a standard physical exam

 Have a minimum 2.3/4.0 GPA to qualify for an engineering position

VETERAN PREFERENCE: Veterans may be eligible for a hiring preference based on military service. You must provide necessary verification paperwork (e.g., a copy of your DD Form 214-Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to verify your eligibility when you submit your application.

NOTE: Starting salary is dependent on GPA.
