Marketing Intern – User Behaviour & Growth Strategy
Company: Spica
About Spica:
Spica is a curated micro-experience app that helps users discover multi-stop date plans based on their intent and location – across self-dates, friend outings, and romantic dates. We’re live in 13 U.S. cities with over 13,000 curated plans and are in the process of filing our core product patent.
This internship is ideal for students who are eager to contribute meaningfully in a fast-moving, early-stage environment. You’ll be working hands-on with our core user group (students), and apply marketing and business acumen directly.
Skills and Work-Scope:
-
Communication & Relationship-Building
You’ll engage with students, local businesses, and online communities – requiring clear articulation, confident outreach, and the ability to build quick rapport. -
Platform Intelligence & Content Sensibility
Understand how different platforms (Instagram, WhatsApp, Discord) function, help craft high-context posts, respond with relevance, and tap into trends for better engagement. -
Strategic Thinking & Initiative
You’ll identify overlooked venues, suggest potential partnerships, and propose hyperlocal marketing moves. We’re looking for thinkers who act – those who connect data points and take ownership. -
User Empathy & Feedback Interpretation
Collecting qualitative insights from users and communities, you’ll help refine product direction and marketing strategy. Your ability to listen and translate feedback into action matters.
What you’ll learn in this experience:
- Behavioral analysis and user segmentation
- Growth strategy design in a fast-moving consumer tech environment
- Creative campaign testing with clear performance metrics
- Product storytelling and positioning for Gen Z audiences
- Translating observation into measurable product and marketing action
- How features, strategy, and brand work together in real-world execution
- Exposure to pre-launch IP strategy and feature rollouts
Internship Details: This is an unpaid summer internship. As Spica transitions into its next product phase (social + revenue layers), this role may evolve into a paid internship or full-time offer, based on contribution and fit.
