The mission of this student chapter is to unite diverse communities and promote inclusivity within the civil engineering industry. IAACE is committed to providing year-round mentorship, education, and networking opportunities to support students in their academic and professional growth. Additionally, the organization focuses on assisting Illinois Techâs international students by offering practical guidance on securing an H-1B visa after graduation, helping to build a stronger international alumni network within the industry.
IAACE-IIT aims to give students greater exposure to the industry by leveraging our strong network of government agencies and companies of all sizes worldwide, inviting students to both on-campus and professional organizations at discounted rates. Additionally, IAACE actively encourages companies to offer visa sponsorships, providing IIT students with a competitive edge through their participation in our programs. Beyond networking, IAACE offers scholarships and year-long mentorship programs designed to help students secure internships and jobs while expanding their technical, interpersonal, and industry knowledge across civil, electrical, architectural, and computer engineering. These programs aim to help students gain both financial support and valuable industry experience, enhancing their professional development on both technical and interpersonal levels.
IAACE-IIT aims to offer guidance to students who are interested in exploring the civil engineering industry and its adjacent fields of interest. The student organization aims to organize participation in site tours, conferences, workshops, webinars, and, most importantly, mentorship programs offered by the IAACE parent organization in Illinois. These events will be hosted monthly or twice a month at the Illinois Tech Mies Campus, and monthly out-of-campus through the IAACE parent organization. The organization also aims to collaborate with other student organizations at IIT and UIC to promote social inclusivity within and outside the Mies Campus.
