The mission of Renaissance Club is to build a breadth of knowledge from great thinkers across different disciplines through non-academic readings and discussions. We hope this knowledge can help students reflect on what actions are truly worthwhile to them, develop a stronger sense of purpose, and grow together in a supportive community.
Members will have a community where they can read, think, and discuss meaningful topics outside of their academic classes. Through books, excerpts, and other forms of media from different disciplines, members can explore questions about life purpose, personal growth, society, culture, technology, and self-improvement. The club also gives students a space to meet others who may be going through similar questions and support each other while trying to find their own path. Members can also participate in thematic discussions, reading nights, and field trips related to the topics we explore.
Our goals are to introduce members to ideas from different disciplines, hold regular thematic readings and discussions, and encourage students to reflect on their values, purpose, and personal growth. We also hope to create a comfortable community where members can share different perspectives, learn from each other, and focus more on meaningful actions instead of only the final outcomes. The club will also organize reading nights and field trips connected to the topics we discuss.
