This mission of our organization is to to empower women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering and technology professions as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.
Members of our organization are able to connect with like-minded women in engineering, participate in the national conference, and meet active women in the engineering field.
Our chapter’s goal is to help our members reach their full potential with their careers. We focus on creating a community where we all travel, as we are guided to our individual path to success. We also reach this goal by hosting a variety of events, which include (but are not limited to):
-Lunch & Learns: top professionals in the Chicago area speak to our chapter, give career advice, and provide connections to help our members get internships and jobs
– Social Events: for SWE members to get to know and advise each other as fellow IIT students
how do they plan to reach them through the events they put on.
-Outreach events: to introduce STEM to younger students in the Chicago area
-National and Regional Conferences: includes career development sessions and careers fairs to help our members get ahead in finding the perfect job
