John is an Optometrist from Bowling Green, KY. Suffering from a lazy eye as a child, you could say he was destined for this profession all along. Now John helps others with their own eye problems. After attending The University of Houston and studying General Science, John focused his attention on Optometry.

>> My name is John Brewell [assumed spelling], and I am an optometrist. Well, on a daily basis we take care of people's vision needs or eye heath needs. So we see patients all day long, generally from about 8 o'clock in the morning till about 6. Not really touching the eye, it's mostly looking inside it and that type of thing, looking into the microscope. If we're touching anything, we're touching the eyelids. So you know really it's that pressure test that we check for glaucoma. That's the touching. We do some minor surgical in Kentucky. We can do minor surgical procedures and some laser procedures. There's only two states that optometrists can do that. It's Kentucky and Oklahoma. So it's -- you know it's one of those things where you don't have a lot of afterhours calls. You do get some. But you don't get a lot of that. So it's really a nice profession to be in.
