Illinois Tech is all about helping its members understand the issues & solutions to climate change.
We bring in speakers from the industry to discuss opportunities for students to channel their respective backgrounds toward careers in low carbon technologies. These careers range from driving energy efficiency in the built environment to renewables to geotech engineering. Members get first hand experience with both on-campus and off-campus energy audits to reduce energy budgets & carbon footprints.
Members will also learn about political advocacy and the critical role that policy has in solving climate change. Learning about political advocacy culminates with a trip to DC to join Citizens Climate Lobby – International June Conference and Lobby Day. IIT Students will be trained to meet with their Members of Congress and discuss “pricing carbon” as the first best step to solve Climate Change.
