BJ Engelhardt

Executive Director, Career Services

BJ serves as Senior Director for Career Services. He has worked at Illinois Tech since 2007 in both enrollment management/recruiting roles and Career Services. In his current role, BJ manages the day-to-day activities of Career Services and assists in determining the strategic direction for the office to most effectively engage students, employers, and alumni to ensure that our students are successful in the first step of their career journey. This also includes the management and development of the Elevate program and Illinois Tech’s Cooperative Education and Internship program. BJ is a proud alumnus of the Illinois Tech’s Stuart School of Business, receiving his Master of Science in Marketing Analytics and Communication in 2014.

Emily Ginger

Assistant Director Co-operative Education and Internships

Emily serves as Assistant Director Co-operative Education and Internships. Her background is in clinical psychology, having worked with many individuals from diverse backgrounds in psychology, research, and career services settings. Emily developed and coordinates the Alumni Mentorship Program for current Illinois Tech students using evidence-based mentorship practices. She uses her background in psychotherapy training to deliver effective career coaching guidance to help students navigate their career paths and achieve their goals. Emily is a proud alumnus of Illinois Tech and received her Master of Science in Psychology in 2021.

Celestine McGee

Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Outreach

Celestine McGee develops relationships with employers to generate employment opportunities for students. Celestine is passionate about helping others and bringing them together through collaboration and synergy! Outside of work, Celestine is passionate about running races, writing beauty blogs, and helping others find their inner calm through mindfulness. She is also a passionate entrepreneur for marketing, fashion, beauty, and holistic approaches to healthy living concepts.

Jennifer Komorowski

Experiential Learning Advisor

Jennifer Komorowski is the Experiential Learning Advisor at Illinois Tech, overseeing curricular practical training (CPT) and student internships. She ensures student applications are completed and processed within university and federal regulations, advises students on the application procedures, and provides career development coaching as well. Jennifer studied and worked in three different countries over ten years as an English teacher, and also has a background in museum education programs and grant writing. Jennifer utilizes her international and educational background to build relationships with students and help guide them in their professional development.

Lisa Montgomery

Director, Employer Engagement

Lisa L. Montgomery is an influential leader as the Director of Employer Engagement for the Office of Career Services at the Illinois Institute of Technology. In this pivotal role, she expertly connects students with meaningful internships, employment, and research opportunities at leading companies and organizations. Lisa is dedicated to building robust partnerships with businesses that align with the university’s academic, social, and economic goals, thereby enhancing the institution’s brand reputation.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lisa is the visionary founder of the nonprofit organization Dreams & Beyond, which empowers girls and women by providing vital programs and resources. She is a passionate advocate for literacy through her initiative, The Wild Formula Learning Network, which distributes free repurposed books to youth and promotes engaging sensory learning experiences. Additionally, her Cultural Kitchen Club program unveils the rich culinary traditions from around the globe, inviting participants to explore the hidden treasures of kitchens worldwide!

Cynthia Stewart

Associate Director of Experiential Learning and Cooperative Education

Cynthia serves as the Associate Director of Experiential Learning and Cooperative Education. She will oversee the implementation of the Elevate and Cooperative Education Programs as well as working with undergraduate and graduate level students to guide them through their professional and academic growth as they matriculate through college.

Illinois Institute of Technology is not new to Cynthia. While in high school from sophomore year to her senior year, each summer she participated in the Early Identification Program (EID), which focused on learning about the different aspects of engineering. This led to her first career as an Electrical Design Engineer and Construction Manager for major Chicago projects like Southside’s White Sox Park and Westside’s United Center, McCormick Place Expansion, O’Hare International Terminal 5, Soldier Field skybox, Chicago Public Schools, and many other projects even internationally.

After 14 years in the industry, she transitioned to higher education, where experiential Learning and teaching have been her focus. She has worked with many Chicagoland and out of state employers to secure academic internships opportunities for undergraduate and graduate level students. She is a scholar practitioner, who is currently a Society for Experiential Education (SEE) fellow and is a co-author and editorial board member for Coalition of Urban Metropolitan Universities – Metropolitan Urban Journal (MUJ). Here is a link to the journal and article. She has presented about experiential learning and how it impacts the lives of students and employers at many conferences.

Cynthia earned a PhD in Theology and an Advanced Master in Theological Studies in Theology and Ethics from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and Northwestern University. She also earned a Master of Arts and a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. Cynthia’s diverse academic background includes studies in Electrical Engineering at Western Illinois University.

Freddrick Logan

Experiential Learning Manager

Freddrick architects the digital strategy and technical infrastructure of the Elevate initiative. He also owns the execution of multiple critical technology projects across Career Services within the institution.

A technologist with a passion for student success, Freddrick architects the digital infrastructure that connects students to transformative opportunities. He is responsible for deploying and optimizing multiple mission-critical digital assets and projects—including the Elevate Hub and Portal (Illinois Tech’s Virtual Career Center)—ensuring that the university’s promise of career-readiness is scalable and data-driven.

Freddrick brings a global, technical perspective to Career Services. Before joining Illinois Tech, he established himself as a leader in educational-technology by evaluating over 3,800 technical projects and mentoring 1,800+ professionals globally, across web development, data analytics, UX/UI, and cybersecurity.

His academic qualifications and professional experience reflect the intersection of technology and strategy. Freddrick holds a PhD in e-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning, three Master’s degrees in Business Information Technology, Digital Cinema (Digital Media Production), and Technical Communication and Information Design, and a B.S. in Computer Science. He is a Certified Business Architect and has completed eleven executive programmes at the University of Oxford Saïd Business School.
