The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is the Aerospace Professional Organization here at IIT. If you’re interested in learning more about the aerospace industry and exploring a future career we hope you will consider us as your designated chapter.
We are an inclusive and welcoming group of students with diverse backgrounds and will work to cater to your particular interests and goals to ensure you get the best opportunities and news based on your skillset.
Members offer workshops in Computer Aided Design (Solidworks, AutoCAD), MATLAB/Simulink, Python.
We have experience prototyping Remote-Controlled Aircraft, akin to Drones.
Members moonlight as Idea Shop Mentors, experienced with hands on building, laser-cutting, CNC’ing, soldering, and other vital building skills. We’ll be happy to help you learn!
We also have administrative roles, for those who prefer the non-technical side of the aerospace industry.

We also have an IPRO where you can learn more about the business-side of the industry. Guest speakers come to talk about the latest startups with drone delivery systems, urban mobility, and the Federal Aviation Regulations that are mandated, both in the United States and Europe.
